The Haiti Project’s 14th annual Art & Soul Gala will honor Premier Medical Group and Dr. Bertrand Norvilus for their uncompromising support of and dedication to the Fiervil Clinic and the 47 villages it serves in northwest Haiti.
The Haiti Project to Hold 13th Annual Art & Soul Gala at Vassar College
The Haiti Project’s 13th annual Art & Soul Gala will honor accomplished Hudson Valley physicians Diane Cicatello, MD and Kimberly Heller, MD, who both went to Haiti and served in our clinic there. Also being honored are the Vassar Haiti Project alumnae/i whose dedication to the organization’s health mission has manifested in healthcare careers. We are excited to celebrate the achievements of our honorees and their impact on our collective work.
Art & Soul 2023
The Haiti Project’s annual Art & Soul Gala raises funds for the staffing, supplies, and operation of a medical clinic in Fiervil, Haiti for a full year. The clinic annually serves thousands of families from 45 remote mountainous communities. The Gala is supported by local physicians, businesses, and families from the Hudson Valley.
“She Is” 2020–an annual event honoring women
“Instead of giving light to one, let’s be mindful not to lose the room for everyone. Collectively and independently, we can be more than the sum of all parts.” This was one of the messages our honoree, Professor Candice Lowe Swift, Professor of Anthropology and Director of Engaged Pluralism Initiative at Vassar, conveyed during her speech at the 2020 She Is.
Families Weekend Sale 2019
Over the course of a few days, the CCMPR in Main Building had been transformed from an empty, bland room to an oasis of Haitian art, handcrafts, and music. There was an immediate sense of being transported into a new world as you stepped into the room and were surrounded by the vibrant colors and textures of Haiti. It was time for VHP’s annual Families Weekend Sale.

This year’s Art & Soul Gala was the best yet, truly a spectacular night. Believe it or not, VHP really started planning this year’s event before last year’s event even happened, tracking down the right people to honor at our gala.

Walking into the Villard Room on the night of She Is, I was blown away by the colors, lights, and overall vibrancy of the room. Seeing how everything had come together so smoothly was a reminder of all of the work that so many people had dedicated to creating and planning for the event.
