The Haiti Project marks its 25th annual Art Auction & Sale at Vassar College. The show, which takes place during Vassar’s Families Weekend in partnership with Vassar’s Dept. International Studies, will showcase Haitian art and culture. This year's event features a virtual auction and in-person sale of hundreds of original Haitian paintings and handcrafts at Vassar College in the Multi Purpose Room of the College Center.
Hundreds of original paintings and handicrafts made in Haiti will be offered for sale or auction. Works encompass paintings, iron sculptures, paper mâché, wood and metal handcrafts and more - displaying the country's diverse and talented artistic voices. Sales directly support the livelihoods of hundreds of local artists and proceeds also benefit numerous programs in Chermaitre—a mountain village in Haiti. The proceeds for this sale will go to our education initiative for 250 primary school children, secondary school and adult education programs. Support sustainable development initiatives in Haiti, while simultaneously connecting with the vibrant, joyous narrative expressed through the art.

“Having conversed with some of the Haitian artists myself, I saw how art is integrated into their lives and how difficult it is for the local artists to produce their art and sustain themselves after hours and hours of hard work. It was amazing to see how talented and capable these Haitians are in creating extraordinary paintings and crafts that show the beauty of Haiti through a unique pair of lens.”
