VHP and Spring Leadership Retreat

"On January 26th, VHP had its annual Spring Leadership Retreat, which is always an important part of starting off the new semester. It gives us an opportunity to come together, reflect on how our organization has been functioning, and set goals for the future. In the past, this retreat was attended by Executive Board members only, but this year we were also joined by members preparing to go on the March trip to Haiti (“trippers” in VHP vernacular).

In addition to the trippers, VHP alum Sahara Pradhan ’15 was generous enough to come and be with us again to lead a workshop on organization skills. During the workshop, we got the opportunity to reflect on areas where we could be doing better as an organization and as a community. She then led us in analyzing these areas to find ways that we can take concrete actions to improve them.

Towards the end of the day, Caryn Halle lead the group in thinking about our wellbeing—both physical and emotional.

One of the things I always appreciate most about these retreats is simply the time we all agree to set aside to come together as a community—to reflect, to bond, to prepare for what is sure to be yet another busy semester."
